Go to the yellow question mark available at the bottom corner of your Google Maps Screen, and you will be in for a wonderful surprise.

This week Google is celebrating Mario Day by inviting Nintendo’s iconic character into its Maps. All you need to do is update the app and look for the question mark, and then you will be able to enable “Mario Time.” Start Navigation (the step by step driving directions) available within the Maps and you will view the plumber driving his little kart instead of the traditional blue arrow.

Google on its official blog states,

“To celebrate our favorite mustachioed plumber-turned-racer on his special day—MAR10 Day—we’ve collaborated with the team at Nintendo to let Mario accompany you on all of your driving adventures on Google Maps this week.”

Today, 10th March is Mario Day, and Google Maps is rolling out the Easter Egg on Friday and it will be live for a week.

Google’s announcement goes on to encourage you to use the integration safely,‘we don’t encourage throwing bananas or red shells at other drivers in real life!’ Mario will appear for both Android and iOS users. However, it is important that your Maps app is updated.

The company concluded by saying,

“Ready to take a drive with Mario? He’ll start rolling out on Maps globally today, and will join you on your road trips for a week. Take a screenshot of your route and share it with @GoogleMaps on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #MarioMaps. But remember, make sure to avoid sharing personal details like your home or work address (seriously, think before you post). Let’s-a go!”
